Hackintosh
So, I recently decided to try and install Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on a PC. Heres how it went…So I burned the needed patched versions of Leopard to bootable DVD’s and installed, everything went PERFECTLY! Then it went downhill.
I installed Leopard and all was good, until I turned it off. Then it wouldn’t boot from the HD, so I tried to boot from the DVD no luck there it just kept trying to reinstall Leopard, so i gave up on that patch (Kalyway) and tried Leo4All which I heard the guys over at TechnoChubby got on well with, but no luck there either.
So I decided to leave it for a few days and then try another iso I had downloaded Kalyway V10.5.2 (I was previously using Kalyway V10.5.1) and the exact same thing happened. I couldn’t believe it.
So in then end after 2 weeks of solid trial with the PC still trying to install Leopard, I gave up, and I am sad to say put Ubuntu on the machine and it is now my new file server. So not all lost really, I now have a really high spec file server! S’all good!
No commentsWeb Development Apps - CODA
If you’re a Mac user like me, you may know that it can sometimes be hard to find good applications to do all of your web coding in! Well, I have found a solution.
CODA - One window web development.
CODA is one great application, seriously! I love it and use it every day, all my websites are made with that application. CODA’s sites features make it great for me to manage all of my (and my clients) websites!
The built in FTP and file browser allow me to quickly get to any files I need either on my system, or my server.Built is CSS editing tools make it easy to create great and valid designs, quickly and easily.
Clips are great, it allows me to get to all of my most used pieces of code very easily, things like DOCTYPES and meta tags that I frequently use are already stored in the program!
Finally, the books feature! Books are a great way in CODA to learn new techniques like JavaScript, PHP, etc…
I highly recomend this application to anyone using Mac, you can find out more at www.panic.com/coda
No commentsiPhone SDK - 100,000 Downloads
In just over three days the iPhone SDK (Software Developer Kit) has had over 100,000 downloads! Could this mean millions of apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch?
Within hours of Apple releasing the SDK there was over 100,000 downloads, causing severe strain on the ADC (Apple Developer Connection) servers, resulting in over 1 hour of down time! Which is highly unusual for Apple to have downtime.
If we could be seeing millions of apps on the iPhone what kind of apps would you want to see? Email Me: websites@the-dream.co.uk

A few days ago, at an iPhone special event Apple released the iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit). For the average user reading this, that may mean nothing to you, but, it means alot! It means 3rd party apps on the iPhone!
Some of you may know that I have made some Mac software iWallet and Dream Capture, I plan on bringing iWallet to the iPhone and iPod Touch! But enough about me…
The SDK will make developers able to create amazing apps and games to the iPhone and iPod Touch. These mobile devices are great gaming platforms, with built in accelerometers it’s like a Wii in your pocket!
